UM (Utility Model)
An invention that results in a functional improvement in its use or manufacture on objects or tools already existing in the market.
WHAT IS A PATENT?
It is the invention or product of new shape or arrangement that meets the criteria of novelty, inventiveness and industrial applicability established by law.
WHAT IS A GREEN PATENT?
It is a title granted by the State to technologies created to protect the environment. This kind of invention may benefit from priority examination for a faster patent prosecution and issuance.
WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF PROTECTING AN INVENTION?
A patent is a title granted by the State conferring a temporary monopoly for the exploitation of an invention and forbidding the unauthorized use of it by third parties. Use by someone other than the owner will be possible only by means of a contract or an agreement.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN AN INVENTION IS NOT PROTECTED?
